Hellenic Rescue Commando of Preveza was founded in 1997, in the Prefecture of Preveza, and is based in the city of Preveza. It is a Voluntary Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), non-profit-making and is mostly active in the region of Epirus but also wherever the need arises.
Members of the Hellenic Rescue Commando of Preveza can be: rangers, marines, frogmen, paratroopers, men and women, who served to any extent in the special forces. Members of the Club can also be everyone who wishes to offer as volunteer-friends by promoting and supporting the purposes of the Club. The Club may cooperate with other similar associations in Greece or abroad and participate in federations that they create, in order to develop the relationships that can promote the aims and the goals of the Association.
It is absolutely forbidden to cooperate with a club, organization etc. of a political nature.
Hellenic Rescue Commando of Preveza has been a member of the Greek Federation of Special Forces since its establishment.
Since 28 February 2022 has been a member of Greek Federation of Voluntary Organitation of Forest Protection and Forest Firefighting
Since 31 July 2001 the Club of Greek Commandos of the Prefecture of Preveza joins the CIVIL PROTECTION VOLUNTEERISM SYSTEM of Greece and enters the Civil Protection Volunteering Register ( Vos Register ) for voluntary organizations of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Ministry For Climate Crisis and Civil Protection with the code: 2001 / 040 and joins the Coordinating Body of Civil Protection of Region of Epirus and its emergency plannin.
